Severe Thunderstorm, Flood Warning, 60 MPH Winds Possible: NWS
The severe thunderstorm warning is in effect until 2:45 p.m. and a flood warning is in effect until 5:15 p.m.

A severe thunderstorm and flood warning is now in effect in Northern New Jersey including Somerset County.
According to the National Weather Service, a line of severe thunderstorms just east of the Delaware River capable of producing “damaging winds” in excess of 60 miles per hour is in the region with tree and wire damage possible.
“Severe thunderstorms produce damaging winds and very heavy rain. For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest flooe of your home or business. Heavy rains flood roads quickly so do not drive into areas where water covers the road,” The Weather Channel reported.

“Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways,” The Weather Channel reported.
