Share, Swap Recipes At Cookie Exchange
Share and swap cookie recipes at the Warren Township Library Branch on Monday.

WARREN, NJ — Bring your family or favorite cookie recipe and share it with others. The Warren Township Library will host a Recipe Club Cookie Exchange at 7 p.m. on Dec. 5.
Somerset County Library System of New Jersey librarian Diane Hahn also shared her Aunt Sarah’s recipe for Pecan Tarts. “Aunt Sarah is usually the person I make my holiday cookies with, so I love the idea of sharing this recipe with others.”
Aunt Sarah’s Pecan Tarts
For the dough:
½ cup butter
3 oz. cream cheese
1 cup flour
For the filling:
1 egg, beaten
¾ cup packed brown sugar
1 tablespoon melted butter
1 cup chopped pecans
1 teaspoon vanilla
Dash salt

Optional:
Powdered sugar, to sprinkle on top
Directions:
Cream together butter and cream cheese until light and fluffy. Blend in flour gradually. Make 24 equally sized balls from the dough mixture. Press into ungreased mini muffin tins so dough forms a shell and covers the bottom and sides.

For filling, cream together butter and sugar. Mix in eggs, vanilla, and salt. Stir in chopped pecans. Fill shells about ⅔ full with filling mixture.
Bake at 375 degrees for 15-20 minutes. Let cool before removing from muffin tins. Sprinkle with powdered sugar, if desired.
Makes 2 dozen.
