Shed Fire Damages Structures, Machines, Propane Tanks In Bridgewater

The fire was reported on Sunday in the Finderne section of the Township.

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — Multiple emergency responders were called to battle a large shed fire in Bridgewater on Sunday.

At 4:16 p.m., Finderne Fire Department was called to Billian Street for a brush fire. Shortly after, the fire was upgraded to a working shed fire with several structures heavily involved in the fire.

In total, four structures, multiple machines, multiple propane tanks, and several fences were damaged by fire, according to the fire department.

Bound Brook Fire Department, the New Jersey Forestry Unit, Manville EMS, Somerset County Haz-Mat Team, and Bridgewater Police Department also came out to help.

The Finderne Fire Department, which covers the southeast section of Bridgewater Township, is always looking for volunteers.

Volunteers are offered complete protective gear, free training, LOSAP (Length of Service Award Programs), a pay-per-call incentive, a life insurance/disability plan, and an in-house gym.
