BRIDGEWATER, NJ — The line of excited shoppers wrapped all the way around the new Whole Foods store in Bridgewater on Friday morning.

The grand opening was postponed from Wednesday to Friday due to the snow storm. Shoppers waiting in line were treated with homemade pastries and coffee as they waited for the 9 a.m. opening at new store located at the new Chimney Rock Complex at 319 Chimney Rock Road off Route 22.

Police and even traffic control were on scene to keep the commotion under control. The amount of cars in the lot overflowed into neighboring businesses lots.

Inside shoppers excitedly took photos and shared their experiences on social media. Many also filled their carts with goodies. Some went straight to the store's cafe area where they relaxed in the lounge.

Also during the grand opening, Whole Foods Market Bridgewater will host a 5 percent Community Giving Day. Five percent of net sales from opening day will be donated to the Somerset County Park Foundation to fund community wellness programs and improve local trails.
