Simon Appoints New General Manager to Menlo Park Mall

Simon, a global leader in retail real estate, recently appointed Austin Martin to the position of General Manager at Menlo Park Mall in Edison, New Jersey.

Martin will utilize his asset management and retail real estate expertise to oversee a major renovation of the mall that started in late April and will touch a significant portion of the interior and exterior of the property, including a complete transformation of the existing food area into a spectacular new Dining Pavilion. His daily duties will involve handling Menlo Park Mall’s operations, local leasing, security, marketing and budget functions. As part of his new role, Martin will also be responsible for effectively leading a team of people who will create mutually beneficial partnerships with the Edison-area business community. Furthermore, he will maintain positive retailer to landlord relations in an effort to further advance customers’ shopping experiences as well as the initiatives of the center.

Martin has been with Simon for five years and has served in a leadership capacity spanning two dozen properties situated in almost every major demographic region throughout the United States. Most recently, he served as General Manager at Briarwood Mall in Ann Arbor, Michigan while supporting a renovation and ground-up development.

“I am excited for this new opportunity to lead the management team at Menlo Park Mall, one of the premier shopping centers in New Jersey,” commented Martin. “The mall is in the midst of a major redevelopment and I look forward to helping to bring that project to fruition later this year as well as building on the past success the property has already achieved.”

Originally from Indianapolis, Indiana, Austin holds a Finance Degree from Quincy University.
