Skating Stars Offer One-Day Seminars at Bridgewater Sports Arena

Bridgewater, NJ – With summer right around the corner, there’s no better time to hit the ice rink than on July 14 when Olympic Coach Tom Zakrajsek teaches special figure skating seminars at the Bridgewater Sports Arena. He won’t be alone though … Coach Tom is bringing accomplished skaters Max Aaron and Mirai Nagasu, who will also be teaching.

As coach to World and Olympic competitors, Zakrajsek knows what it takes to make a great figure skater. In fact, he coached Nagasu to an Olympic bronze medal in the figure skating team event at the 2018 Winter Olympics in February where she was the first American female to land the challenging triple Axel jump at the Olympics. Nagasu’s accomplishments led to an appearance in the most recent season of Dancing with the Stars. Aaron, a US National Champion and international competitor, has also been coached by Zakrajsek and has been one of the top US men when it comes to landing quadruple jumps and jump combinations.

But it all starts on home ice … and New Jersey sports a great number of rinks and figure skating programs. “This is such a fantastic opportunity to bring Olympic-level coaching to our facility,” said Jackie Kulik, Director of Skating at Bridgewater Sports Arena. “We’re all excited to work with Coach Tom, Max, and Mirai and learn from their wealth of experience.”

The one-day program features on and off ice training with tracks for skaters with some basic jumping ability through advanced levels. Adult skaters and coaches are included. Private lessons are available via reservations in advance.

“There’s something for everyone who can skate—it’s going to be a great day,” said Kulik.
