Skeeters Shut Out Patriots 7-0

Bridgewater, NJ – The Sugar Land Skeeters (4-3, 42-34) shutout the Somerset Patriots (2-4, 48-27) 7-0 Saturday evening from TD Bank Ballpark. The Skeeters have won two of the first three games in this four game weekend series.

 

In the top of the first inning the Skeeters sent 11 batters to the plate to grab an early 6-0 advantage. First baseman Travis Scott and Dominic Ramos tallied RBI sacrifice flies. Designated hitter Nick Stavinoha and catcher Danny Lehmann sliced RBI singles while right fielder Neil Medchill drilled a two RBI single.

Sugar Land added a run in the top of the seventh inning as second baseman Chase Lambin hit a RBI single increasing the lead to 7-0.

Dan Meadows (1-2) earned the win tossing five scoreless innings allowing only two hits. Jon Lucas (0-1) suffered the loss as he pitched two thirds of an inning while surrendering six runs on four hits and issued three walks.
