The annual event will be take-out only this Christmas.

Dec. 9, 2020

With many in our community disconnected from their friends and family this season, the Somerset County 4-H Association is returning with their annual Community Holiday Dinner on December 25th. Created nine years ago, the free event was founded on the purpose of building a joyful and meaningful communal dinner for everyone to enjoy, regardless of their circumstances.

Averaging around 120 guests every year, including volunteers, the Community Holiday Dinner brings together local businesses, organizations, and citizens to donate goods that can be used in creating a dinner that includes decorations, drinks, a main course, and deserts.

"We're excited to be able to continue sharing this tradition in a safe environment. We know how much this event means to the community and we cannot wait to see everyone from all ages and backgrounds return next year," said creator and organizer Sue McCombie.

This year marks the first time the event will be strictly 'take-out' due to COVID-19 safety measures. Those interested in ordering the free lasagna dinner will be able to do so by calling Somerset County 4-H at 908-526-6644 prior to December 20th. Masks will be mandatory while driving to pick up your meal.
