Somerset County 4-H Celebrates International Women's Month

"Empowering Young Women: A Live Discussion with Female Leaders" is a free and public Zoom discussion set for March 9.

In celebration of International Women's Month, Somerset County 4-H will be hosting Empowering Young Women: A Live Discussion with Female Leaders - a free, public discussion and Q&A featuring local female leaders from across New Jersey via Zoom on March 9th from 7pm-8:30pm.

Focusing on empowering the next generation of female leaders, panelists will bring their backgrounds to life and share their experiences to help foster encouragement and inspiration in youth looking to accomplish their own goals. Topics covered include female empowerment, social responsibility, local leadership, and using your voice to initiate change.

"This is one of the first times we've hosted a virtual event like this, and we are extremely excited about the incredible women that have donated their time to participate. Our hope is that this will truly inspire youth in a positive and engaging way," stated Yhannels Limongi, Somerset County 4-H Fair Coordinator.

Bolstered by an exceptionally diverse and accomplished panel, speakers include Kayla Rowe (New Jersey Lawyer, Former Deputy Attorney General, Former Appellate Prosecutor, and Adjunct Law School Professor), Officer Shannon Snook (Somerset County Sheriff's Office K-9 Officer and former Somerset County 4-H member), Dr. Karyn Malinowski (Ph.D. Director, Rutgers Equine Science Center), Dr. Nada Boustany (Associate Professor at Rutgers University Biomedical Engineering, Ph.D., Medical Engineering / Medical Physics), Doris Zampella (Somerset County Entrepreneur, Member of Women in Business at Somerset County Business Partnership), and Stephanie Moench (Somerset County Entrepreneur, Chair at Bridgewater Creative Arts Committee, Member of Somerset County Cultural and Heritage Commission).

Registration is open to the public for anyone in 6th grade or higher. The live discussion will take place on March 9th from 7pm-8:30pm and those interested can register by visiting https://go.rutgers.edu/uaret0ds.
