Somerset County Fugitive Of Month Wanted For Aggravated Assault

Mateo D. Maldonado-Bencebi is named the Fugitive of the Month for March 2026 by the Somerset County Prosecutor's Office.

SOMERVILLE, NJ — A man wanted on multiple charges, including aggravated assault in Somerset County, was named the Somerset County Prosecutor's Office(SCPO) Fugitive of the Month for March.

Mateo D. Maldonado-Bencebi is wanted by the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office for failure to appear (FTA) for one count of third-degree aggravated assault and one count of possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose, all of which occurred in October of 2025 in Somerville Borough.

A warrant has been issued for his arrest.

The SCPO released the following information on Maldonado-Bencebi:

  • Date of birth: 04/24/1985
  • Height: 5’7
  • Weight: 150
  • Hair: Black
  • Eyes: Brown
  • Tattoos: Left hand - Bibi, Neck - Cross
  • Last known address: Somerville
