Somerset County Gets Into The Spirit of Giving
Library members donate to Alternatives, Inc. and Somerset County Animal Shelter
Somerset County Library System of New Jersey’s staff members came together in the spirit of giving to donate gifts to programs supported by Alternatives, Inc., an organization that provides comprehensive services to individuals/families with special needs to enable them to reach their highest level of independence and integration into the community.
The gifts will go to those in need in Alternatives, Inc.’s Franklin House, Parenting, and Supportive Living programs.
“SCLSNJ has been contributing to Alternatives during the holiday season for 16 years,” explained Edith Lit, a library assistant at SCLSNJ and coordinator of the donations for Alternatives, Inc. “There is one recipient of the donations who we have been sending presents to since she was a child; now she’s preparing to go to college. We have been a part of her holiday for all of these years as she grew up. That’s what this is all about. Making the holidays special for people like her.”
