Union County Man Who Transported Bricks of Heroin on a Public Bus Pleads Guilty

A repeated felon from Plainfield pleaded guilty to transporting as much as 100 bricks of Heroin to supply a drug ring in Pittsburgh

Plainfield, NJ -- A Union County man pleaded guilty to making regular trips to Pittsburgh from New Jersey by Greyhound bus to supply as much as 100 bricks of heroin to a drug ring, according to the post-gazette.com.

Peter Woodley, 36, a repeated felon from Plainfield allegedly worked with a dealer, Veryl Long, in supplying Long's heroin operation in East Pittsburgh, Penn Hills, Monroeville, Greensburg and elsewhere in the eastern suburbs in 2011 and 2012, according to the post-gazette.com.

Woodley was arrested on March 20, 2013 after Long cooperated with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration in allowing his cell phone calls with Woodley to be recorded, according to the post-gazette.com.

Woodley pleaded guilty on Monday to counts of possession with intent to distribute and possession of a gun by a felon but chose to go to trial on the remaining charge of conspiracy to distribute a kilo or more of heroin, according to the post-gazette.com.

He faces at least 10 years in prison and could get life.
