Somerset County Proclaims November National Diabetes Awareness Month
Proclimation calls on community to raise awareness, support those battling disease, and live an active, healthy lifestyle

Freeholder Director Mark Caliguire recognized November as National Diabetes Awareness Month at a recent Freeholders’ meeting.
A proclamation was presented to Lucille Y. Talbot of the Regional Chronic Disease Coalition-Morris and Somerset counties (RCDC). The proclamation states the importance of communicating the seriousness of diabetes and the importance of diabetes prevention and control.
The proclamation calls upon community members, school systems, government agencies, nonprofit organizations, health care providers, research institutions and other interested groups to join in activities that raise awareness and support for those people battling this disease, and urges everyone to live an active, healthy lifestyle.
RCDC awareness programs are made possible by a grant from the New Jersey Department of Health, Office of Cancer Control and Prevention to the Somerset County Public Health & Safety Department.
