Somerset County Sets Up COVID-19 Hotline For Vaccine Questions
The Somerset County call center will help residents with their questions regarding coronavirus testing and vaccines.
SOMERSET COUNTY, NJ — Somerset County is setting up a call center to help residents with their questions regarding coronavirus testing and vaccines.
"The phone line is operational now but it is in the process of being ramped up," said Somerset County Spokesman Nathan Rudy. "Our goal is to provide quick and easy answers regarding COVID-19 testing and vaccinations."
In particular, the call center at 908-231-7155 will be able to help with registering for a vaccine (especially for senior citizens or residents who do not have access to the internet), finding out if you are eligible for a vaccine, or event finding a vaccination or testing site.

Residents can also find out when a vaccination clinic is confirmed at Somerset County's drive-thru site at Raritan Valley College by checking the red bar at the top of the Somerset County website at co.somerset.nj.us and on Facebook at facebook.com/SomersetCountyNJ with a link to the registration site.
Currently, New Jersey is only receiving 100,000 doses per week of which 35,000 are allocated for public sites. Somerset County requested 1,000 doses per week for their vaccination program, but is only receiving 700 doses per week.

This makes signing up for a Somerset County clinic difficult. Since the clinics have been known to fill up in less than an hour Rudy also suggests residents check out other public sites in the county or the state's COVID-19 site at covid19.nj.gov to find sites throughout the state.
"We encourage everyone who is eligible to sign up and receive their dose wherever they can get it," said Rudy. "Somerset County is committed to providing vaccinations to ensuring anyone wising to be vaccinated can get vaccinated and to reaching or exceeding the 70 percent vaccination goal provided by the state."
