An announcement from The Somerset County Sheriff’s Office

The Somerset County Sheriff’s Office is now using Nixle to send alerts, advisories and community information to the citizens of Somerset County.

You can see them at this link.

Nixle is a community-information service provider built exclusively to deliver safe, trustworthy communications.  It connects government agencies to residents in real time, bringing information to residents of geographically targeted areas and neighborhoods.  Information is available over cell phones by text message, email and the Web.

“Communications may include relevant safety and community-event information, such as upcoming medicine collection drop-off dates, child-safety-seat events, missing “Project LifeSaver” clients, Sheriff’s sales and training events,” said Sheriff Frank J. Provenzano.

Residents of Somerset County can immediately begin receiving pertinent information via text message, email and the Web by registering at www.nixle.com<http://www.nixle.com/>.

Nixle is simple to use and free; however, standard text-message rates may apply. Check with your cellular carrier.  Nixle messages do not contain spam or advertisements.

For more information regarding the Somerset County Sheriff’s Office use of Nixle, contact Sheriff’s Officer Thomas Wallace at 908-231-7138 or Wallace@co.somerset.nj.us.
