Somerset County Spring Surplus Auction Starts May 13 With Online Bidding

The county's online surplus auction includes used vehicles, electronics and office equipment, with inspection dates set.

SOMERSET COUNTY, NJ — Somerset County residents will be able to bid on electronics, used vehicles, office equipment and other surplus property during the county’s Spring Surplus Auction.

The auction starts at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, May 13, and ends with staggered closing times starting at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, May 20.

The county said residents can preview the full list of auction items in advance and should read the terms and conditions before placing bids. Bidding and item photos will be available starting at 8 a.m. on May 13 at www.govdeals.com/somersetcounty.

People who want to inspect items in person can do so at the South County Public Works Facility, 410 Roycefield Road in Hillsborough. Inspection is scheduled for Friday, May 15, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Saturday, May 16, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The county said all property will be sold as-is, where-is. A 10 percent buyer’s premium will be charged, though the auction company is not charging registration fees.

Payment and pickup deadlines are also part of the sale terms. Full payment is due no later than five business days from the time and date the auction closes, according to the county.

Purchased items must be removed within 10 business days from the time and date the auction closes.
