Somerset County Youth Services To Host Resource Fair For Families
Learn about valuable "Wrap Around" community resources and services for youth and families at the "Youth Wrap-Around Resource Fair."
SOMERVILLE, NJ — Learn about valuable “Wrap Around” (non-clinical) community resources and services for youth and families at the “Youth Wrap-Around Resource Fair,” hosted by the Somerset County Office of Youth Services.
The Resource Fair will take place on Thursday, Oct. 17, from 8:30 to 11 a.m. in the first-floor conference room of the Somerset County Human Services Building, 27 Warren St., Somerville. The public is welcome. Registration is requested.
The County Office of Youth Services assesses and coordinates the efforts of government and community agencies that work with at-risk youth and youth with emotional or behavioral health challenges. Representatives from Youth Services will also be participating at the event.

The following is a list of some non-profit and community organizations taking part at the event:
- ARC of Somerset County helps individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities receive services.
- Center for Family Services NJ4S offers a comprehensive continuum of care for families and youth, such as support for addiction recovery, trauma and victim response, housing, behavioral health, and workforce development.
- Central Jersey Family Health Consortium helps promote an equitable and healthy future for families through services, advocacy, education, and collaboration.
- Division of Child Protection & Permanency (DCPP) is New Jersey's child protection and child welfare agency within the New Jersey Department of Children and Families.
- HOME of Somerset County provides a continuum of care for at-risk families, including assistance with emergency shelter through housing-based programs.
- Middle Earth administers programs for youth including career exploration, college preparation, employment readiness, after-school programs, mentoring, recreation and socialization, and tutoring.
- NORWESCAP helps empower individuals and families to move away from poverty and towards a thriving future by assisting with education, employment, housing, and more.
- Pioneer Family Success Centeris a nonprofit organization that connects families to helpful resources in Somerset County and brings families together through free events, programs, and local activities.
- Somerset County Juvenile Institutional Services manages alternative programs for youth ages 12-18 who are involved in the juvenile justice system.
- Somerset County Library Services of NJ provides multiple resources such as free books, free programs for children, youth, and families within their 10 branches across Somerset County.
- Somerset County One-Stop Career Center provides accessible and comprehensive employment and supportive services for career development.
- Special Child Health Services has skilled case managers who work with family and caregivers to develop an appropriate plan for the medical, educational, social, and economic needs of children and their families.
- Zufall Health Center provides families with affordable dental and medical health care.

The Somerset County Office of Youth Services Children’s Inter-Agency Coordinating Council (CIACC) is sponsoring the free event. The CIACC is a planning body that oversees the local youth behavioral health system for Somerset County youth and provides essential training opportunities for school districts and their personnel throughout Somerset County.
The Somerset County Office of Youth Services is a Division of the Somerset County Department of Human Services. The mission of the Office of Youth Services is to effect positive change for youth, families, and their communities. It does this through planning, coordination, creation, and the provision of prevention, intervention, and treatment services that are equally accessible, culturally sensitive, and consistent with the highest professional standards.
