One Week After Flooding, Somerset Patriots Is Ready To Play Ball
After being completely flooded out from Tropical Storm Ida, the TD Bank Ballpark is now cleaned up and ready to play ball this weekend.
BRIDGEWATER, NJ — In just one week since Tropical Storm Ida flooded out TD Bank Ballpark, the Somerset Patriots say they are dried out and ready to play ball this weekend.
"We are excited to announce that we should be all set to play our home games at TD Bank Ballpark this weekend," said Somerset Patriots President/General Manager Patrick McVerry. "These games are even a possibility because of the tireless work of our grounds crew, led by Dan Purner, our staff, and the amazing support of this community. We look forward to being able to open the ballpark and show everyone just how resilient we all are here in New Jersey!"
Following the flooding on Sept. 1, the Patriots moved the first three games of the series against the Hartford Yard Goats to Dunkin’ Donuts Park until the cleanup was completed.

The upcoming games on Friday, Saturday and Sunday against the Hartford Yard Goats will be played at the stadium in Bridgewater.
"It is truly remarkable to see where we were just days ago and where we are now. We are grateful that we will be able to get back to welcoming the community to the ballpark and hopefully bringing that joy back to those who need it during these difficult times," said Co-Chairman Josh Kalafer.

Along with getting back to the ballfield, the Patriots announced they have several plans in place to fundraise to help those affected by the flooding throughout Central New Jersey. The team will host 50-50 raffles at the ballpark each day this weekend, as well as an upcoming online auction that will be announced in the coming days.
Tickets are available for all three games this weekend at somersetpatriots.com, by calling 908-252-0700, or at the box office at the ballpark.
