Bridgewater, NJ- The Somerset Patriots have announced the signing of outfielder Ty Wright.

“The first thing I noticed about Ty is that he is a solid player all around. He’s going to be a tough out that has hit for average everywhere he’s been. He can also add a little power and not strikeout a lot. If your line up one through nine consisted of players like Ty, you’ll have an intimidating line up for any pitching staff to get around,” said Brett Jodie, Manager of the Somerset Patriots Baseball Club.

He split the 2013 season between Tennessee (AA) and Iowa (AAA). Wright hit .280 with 65 hits, 14 doubles, six home runs, and 36 RBI in 66 games at Iowa.

Wright has a minor league career .292 batting average with 728 hits, 144 doubles, nine triples, 60 home runs, and 381 RBI in 724 games.
