Somerset Shelter Reverts To Appointments Only Due To COVID

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — One month after reopening to the public, Somerset Regional Animal Shelter has reverted back to adoption appointments due to growing concerns of the coronavirus.

"Because of heightened COVID concerns, the shelter will be conducting adoptions by appointment only," said Somerset Regional Animal Shelter on Tuesday.

The shelter, at 100 Commons Way in Bridgewater, only just recently reopened to in-person adoptions on July 16.

Those interested in adopting a pet can visit srasnj.org and fill out an adoption application. Then give the shelter a call at 908-725-0308 to set up an appointment.

As of Tuesday, Somerset County reported 67 new coronavirus cases since Monday and a total of 376 new cases since Aug. 11.

Somerset County has reported a total of 25,078 cases and 739 coronavirus-related deaths since the beginning of the pandemic in March 2020.
