Somerville Elks Leader Named National Representative For District
William B. Rose of Bridgewater was appointed to the post during the Grand Lodge Convention this past week in Tampa.

William B. Rose was installed as the new District Deputy Grand Exalted Ruler for the West Central District of the New Jersey State Elks Association. He was appointed to the post during the Grand Lodge Convention this past week in Tampa. As the National Representative for the District Lodges, he will be responsible for working with the Lodges to fulfill the Elks’ longstanding commitment of promoting charity in their communities. District Deputy Grand Exalted Ruler William B. Rose is a member of Somerville Elks Lodge No. 1068.

There are 45,000 Elks members and 109 Lodges in New Jersey. Last year alone the New Jersey State Elks Lodges donated more than $16 million towards enriching our communities. The New Jersey State Elks volunteer hours exceed 365,000 and they drove more than 1.4 million miles, all for the betterment of our New Jersey communities.
Annually, the Elks award college scholarships across the nation totaling more than $5.2 million. Last year alone, the Elks donated approximately $300 million in cash, gifts, and time to make our communities better places to live. The Elks Community Investment Program will award nearly $15 million towards enriching our communities. The Elks National Foundation also granted $10 million to the state Elks associations through State Charities Grants, Special Project Grants and Bonus Grants, which help fund each state’s charitable activities.
