SOMERVILLE, NJ — Latin-inspired food and drink restaurant, Salted Lime, opened about a month ago in Somerville and has already received very good reviews from the public.

Salted Lime is the third restaurant for two New Jersey locals, both owners of Mark Daniel Hospitality, Danny McGill and Mark Farro. They already successfully own and run INC Restaurant, an American bar and restaurant in New Brunswick and Uproot, a casual American restaurant in Warren.

Opening in November, locals are already rating the Salted Lime favorably. On Facebook, the restaurant has an overall five-star rating and an overall four-star rating on Google.

"Food was awesome, service great. Nice bar and great margaritas!" said Paula Pacelli, who gave the restaurant five-stars on Facebook.

"Great food, great drinks, big tequila list. Can't wait to come back. This is what this area has been missing," said Justin Michael, who gave a five-star rating on Facebook.

A Google user also gave the eatery four-stars saying, "Very good food at mid-range pricing. The ceviche I ate was fabulous. Service very kind, slightly overwhelmed by crowd. People were in a waiting line to be seated when I was there. Very noisy and looks like a cafeteria. Worth the try despite that."

"Great addition to Somerville! Mid-price range which I think matches the surrounding restaurants and their food as well. Very high quality and authentic! Service was great too especially since they just opened, which surpassed my expectations! I recommend the Cuban sandwich and the chori papa so tasty. I will definitely be back!" said Michael Swanson on Google.

Not all customers were happy, giving a rating of two or one stars.

"Way too expensive for what you get, food was pretty good but with a group of three people we spent almost $100 and got two little tacos each, one mini pitcher of sangria (five full cups maybe), and one appetizer (also tiny)," said Matt Falcon, who gave a two-star rating on Google.

"Very loud with cafeteria style seating and very uncomfortable chairs. Food portions are quite small and highly over priced but tasty. The Soft Drink served was flat and in an extremely small glass for the price. Right away I got the impression that this establishment is more geared to the Bar and drinking aspect and less on the dining experience. It was worth a try but I would not recommend it to anyone I know and do not plan on returning there," said Paul Hendricks, who gave a one-star rating.

Salted Lime, located at 46 East Main St., has a 30-seat bar that looks into the open air kitchen where diners can see the chefs hand pressing corn and flour tortillas. Everything is cooked from scratch and for the most part purchased locally.

The bar also offers cocktails on draft and frozen drinks such as the traditional margaritas.
