South Bound Brook Mom Charged With Murder Of 4-Year-Old Son
Elina Gutti, 38, of Cedar Street, South Bound Brook was charged with first-degree murder of her son of Aiden Singhania, age 4, police said.

SOUTH BOUND BROOK, NJ — A South Bound Brook mother was charged with the murder of her 4-year-old son on Saturday, said Somerset County Prosecutor Michael H. Robertson.
On Saturday at about 2:28 a.m., Elina Gutti, 38, of Cedar Street, South Bound Brook called 911 saying she had unexplained injuries on her wrist. Police saw Gutti's injuries on her left wrist which needed minor medical treatment.
Officers also found a 4-year-old boy, Aiden Singhania, with severe lacerations in his first-floor bedroom of the home, Robertson said.

Emergency medical personnel tried to save Aiden but he was pronounced dead at 3:17 a.m. at the home, said Robertson.
The New Jersey Northern Regional Medical Examiner’s Office will perform a post-mortem examination to determine the cause and manner of death.

Gutti was taken to an area hospital for medical evaluation by South Bound Brook Police.
After an investigation by detectives from Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit and Crime Scene Investigation Unit, Gutti was arrested and charged with first-degree murder, third-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and fourth-degree unlawful possession of a knife, said Robertson.
Gutti will be taken to the Somerset County Jail once released from the hospital pending a bail detention hearing.
