STEAM Learning Is Exciting At The Preschool Place And Kindergarten

The Preschool Place and Kindergarten is developing preschoolers' STEAM skills particularly through its new program, Inventor's Workshop.

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — The Preschool Place and Kindergarten on North Bridge Street, Bridgewater, is enriching preschoolers’ skills and knowledge in science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics (STEAM) in all their classes, but is particularly proud of its new program called “Inventor’s Workshop.”

The Fall season has provided a fun theme for the weekly class with preschoolers building three dimensional structures with cranberries and toothpicks, conducting experiments with Halloween candy in different liquids, and investigating the properties of “spider slime”.

The children have also been busy constructing pumpkin geoboards and practicing early math skills by rolling dice and adding the corresponding number of googly eyes to a monster game card.

“Fall has never been more exciting!” said Director Carol Rubnitz. “Preschoolers are incredibly curious and love to investigate, discover and design. Young children generate an endless number of questions, and their curiosity motivates them to find answers. These are traits we develop in our Inventor’s Workshop along with a wonder for discovery learning. Our preschoolers understand activities such as predicting, investigating, observing, classifying and making evidence based conclusions. We are creating lifelong learners with early STEAM skills and knowledge necessary for later success.”

The Preschool Place and Kindergarten, 594 North Bridge Street, Bridgewater is starting to enroll students now for the 2017-2018 school year. Registration is ongoing for this school year while openings are available.
