'Stormers Down Somerset 7-1

Bridgewater, New Jersey - The Lancaster Barnstormers (12-18, 36-65) handed the Somerset Patriots (12-19, 53-48) a 7-1 loss on Tuesday night.

Bridgewater, New Jersey - The Lancaster Barnstormers (12-18, 36-65) handed the Somerset Patriots (12-19, 53-48) a 7-1 loss on Tuesday night at TD Bank Ballpark.

The Patriots opened up the scoring in the bottom of the first inning when Will Kengor hit a sacrifice fly, driving in Justin Pacchioli.

In the top of the third, Destin Hood brought home Caleb Gindl via a sacrifice fly to tie the game up at one.

Lancaster manufactured three unearned runs in the top of the seventh inning. Gift Ngoepe, Caleb Gindl and Joe Terdoslavich all scored on three hits and a Patriot error.

The Barnstormers tacked on two more in the eighth via a Ngoepe (2) two-run home run and another home run in the ninth from Joe Terdoslavich (15) made it 7-1.

John Anderson (8-6) earned the victory allowing just one run on five hits across seven innings. Anderson also collected five strikeouts in the strong performance. Liam O’Sullivan (4-7) suffered the loss after he gave up three runs (one earned) on six hits over 6.1 innings of work.
