Stuck NJ Transit Train Stops Flood Gates From Closing In Somerset County: Videos

The Raritan River has flooded causing an NJ Transit train to get stuck which in turn is preventing flood gates to close in Bound Brook.

BOUND BROOK, NJ — A stranded New Jersey Transit train on flooded tracks is preventing flood gates to be closed in Bound Brook. (See videos below)

The Raritan River in Bound Brook has flooded most of the area including the NJ Transit tracks.

With flood gates unable to close, water is able to flow into the borough. The train has been stuck since around 11 a.m. Thursday morning.

The Raritan River in Bound Brook as of 3:15 p.m. on Thursday is at 41.08 feet high just below the record of 42.1 feet high, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

A request for comment from NJ Transit was not returned.
