TEN NEW ENTRIES ANNOUNCED FOR THE

23rd ANNUAL TASTE OF SOMERSET

Tickets Available for the Ultimate Gourmet Tasting Event – May 18, 2015

BRIDGEWATER, NJ - The 23rd annual Taste of Somerset, the area’s original gourmet tasting event provides the unique opportunity to sample the finest appetizers, entrees, desserts, and beverages that the region has to offer. Taste has continued to grow through the decades and the 2015 event will again provide guests with an ultimate dining experience for the 23rd consecutive year.

Taste is scheduled for Monday, May 18, 2015 from 6:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. at The Palace at Somerset Park, 333 Davidson Avenue in Somerset, New Jersey, the area’s premier catering facility. Proceeds from the event support the PeopleCare Center and the non-profit tenants housed in the facility at 120 Finderne Avenue in Bridgewater, NJ.

The 2015 Taste of Somerset will feature chefs from more than forty of the region’s best restaurants and more than one dozen beverage providers. Guests will stroll through the Palace, sampling the finest fare from the area’s best restaurants.

“Guests will experience the richness of Central New Jersey’s culinary community,” stated Marie Hughes, Executive Director of the PeopleCare Center. “Taste is an enjoyable and educational experience for anyone who enjoys dining out.”

Among the restaurants committiung to attend including the newest ten entries are: Blue Salt Culinary; Booker & Zinc American Kitchen & Bar at the Bridgewater Marriott; Bridgewater Bakery; CATB Liquor Import; Drewby’s Grill Pub; Fuzions Grille at the Hotel Somerset; Heavenly Sweets; High Grade Beverage; Houlihan’s Restaurant; Katili’s Chocolates; Krave Spirits; Kings Food Markets; Maggiano’s Little Italy; Northside Lounge; The Palace at Somerset Park; Pinoy Filipino Restaurant; Saker ShopRites, Inc.; Savor Restaurant; Seasons52; Sol Mexican Cantina; Sophie’s Bistro; Twin Brooks Country Club; Trade Winds at Somerset County Vocational High School; Unionville Vineyards; Verve American Bar & Restaurant; Wegman’s Food Market; and WB Law Coffee Company.

BACKGROUNDER

“Taste of Somerset,” has become a model for culinary fund raising events. Hundreds of local businesses have benefited from the exposure and thousands have enjoyed the finest cuisine representing every corner of the world. And most importantly, the tenants of the PeopleCare Center, and the thousands upon thousands of the people that they serve, have benefited from the money that has been raised. “Taste” has generated more than $350,000 for the PeopleCare Center. The funds raised serve to provide a secure, comfortable, and affordable home to non-profit agencies.

PeopleCare Center was established in 1984 as a permanent home for human service agencies. PeopleCare is a private non-profit organization in Somerset County which provides a physical plant to house non-profit agencies and organizations at below market cost. The Center seeks to maximize the accomplishment of community service goals by encouraging sharing of human and physical resources. Among the services addressed by PeopleCare tenants are homelessness, literacy, child care, foster care children, education, and individuals of all ages with various disabilities.
