Threat To Bridgewater-Raritan High School Unfounded, Say Officials

A rumor of a potential school shooting began circulating among multiple students, staff, and families on Wednesday.

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — Rumors of a threat made to Bridgewater-Raritan Regional High School have been determined to be unfounded, according to officials.

Alleged rumors of a potential school shooting were circulating among parents following a fight between students at the high school.

High School Principal Daniel Hemberger sent a letter to parents stating:

"Bridgewater-Raritan High School administration has been made aware of rumors regarding an alleged threat to BRHS. This concern has been communicated by multiple students, staff, and families. Following an investigation by administrators, district security, and the Bridgewater Police Department, the allegations have been determined to be unfounded.
The rumors are unsubstantiated."

School will continue on Thursday as usual.

Bridgewater Police confirmed to Patch the threat was a rumor and unsubstantiated as well.
