Toozik Is Bridgewater's Pet Of The Week

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — Meet Toozik! He has been chosen as Basking Ridge Patch's Pet Of The Week.

"I would imagine that every owner will say that his dog is the best one. But our situation was kind of unique one. We took him into our family exactly the day, when one family member was diagnosed with a cancer. And our Toozik was just an 8-week-old puppy.

Imagining that cancer treatment involves surgery, chemo, radiation, hard hard times, we were not sure how we will handle all that in addition to the small and not trained puppy. But our puppy surprised us! Not only did he learn everything very fast, he was always nearby when he felt somebody needed him, or was in pain or tired or simply in a sad mood. And his clever eyes were saying 'I ll take your pain, I am here with you to make you calm and we'll go on this road together!'

He is a patient, lovely little boy, cockapoo by the breed and best friend by the heart. He is growing into a very intelligent and faithful member of the family."

Participating in the Pet of the Week happenings is simple: submit your nomination by emailing alexis.tarrazi@patch.com. Be sure to include a photograph or two of your pet, a paragraph about what makes him or her so great, and the town you're from. You can choose to include your name, but you don't need to. Then just keep an eye out for a photo of your pet on the Patch!

The photo can be of a present pet, or it can be a baby picture of the adult pet you're so proud of today.

Additionally, selected winners each week will be given a free treat bag when they stop in Woof Gang Bakery and Grooming inside Bridgewater Towne Center at 732 US-202. And winners can also bring their pet into the store for a picture. Woof Gang Bakery will put them up on their Facebook page as well.
