Van Holten Also Found Elevated Lead Levels In Water

Elevated lead levels were reported in Adamsville, Eisenhower, and Hillside schools. And now Van Holten and Wade Administration buildings.

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — Two more locations in the Bridgewater-Raritan Regional School District have turned up elevated lead levels in the water — Van Holten and the Wade Administration buildings.

Van Holten reported two locations in the school with elevated levels of lead out of 64 locations tested, while the Wade Administration building had 9 locations with elevated levels of lead out of 22 locations tested.

"Pursuant to the District’s Water Testing Plan, all elevated locations will have appropriate remedial action taken, whether removing the water line, installing a filter, or placing signage declaring the water is unsafe for drinking purposes," the district announced.

"Please be assured that we will take necessary actions to ensure that the water quality throughout our facilities is safe for all."

These were among the second round of tests completed on April 7 as part of the district's lead water testing at all schools.

The first of the tested areas included Adamsville, Eisenhower, and Hillside schools. Results were received on Monday, April 3.

Hillside and Eisenhower both reported nine locations with elevated levels of lead, while Adamsville showed only two locations.

  • Adamsville; 33; 2
  • Eisenhower; 49; 9
  • Hillside; 47; 9

Remaining schools to be tested include:

  • Bradley Gardens Primary School
  • Crim Primary School
  • Hamilton Primary School
  • John F. Kennedy Primary School
  • Milltown Primary School
  • Bridgewater-Raritan Regional Middle School
  • Bridgewater-Raritan Regional High School

The results are released as they are received by the district.
