Virtual First Day For Crim, Hamilton Schools Due To Flood Damage
Crim Primary School, Hamilton Primary School, and the Middle School in Bridgewater all had flood damage as a result of Tropical Storm Ida.
BRIDGEWATER, NJ — Crim Primary School and Hamilton Primary School will now begin the school year with a virtual first day due to ongoing cleanup from Ida flooding.
"Crim and Hamilton Primary students will attend school remotely on Monday, Sept. 13. The Bridgewater-Raritan Regional School District remains hopeful that we will be able to open both schools early next week, as we are awaiting the results of air quality samples that were collected [Thursday]," said Superintendent of Schools Robert Beers.
The district previously announced on Tuesday that the middle school would have to utilize a virtual format for a minimum of the first two weeks of the school year due to extensive flood damage.

All other district schools will reopen for in-person, full-day instruction on Monday, Sept. 13.
The three schools in the district — Crim Primary School, Hamilton Primary School, and the Middle School — sustained damage due to floodwaters and are in need of varying levels of remediation. More information on when they will return to in-person instruction will be released at a later time.
