Want Lunch? Try Bridgewater's Own ... Hot Dog Truck

Residents Norma and John Stangle sell hot dogs from their truck.

If you're looking for a great hot dog, why not head over to Route 28, across from Elliott's Home Beverages to check out Bridgewater's own ... hot dog stand.

On land owned by Elliott's Home Beverages owner Vince DiLorenzo, stands a hot dog truck, owned by Bridgewater residents John and Norma Stangle. After trying to have their own small hot dog stand years ago, the family opted to build its own truck to sell the food.

"Since John's entire life was dedicated to trucking from a very young age with his dad's trucking company, I am very impressed on how he has embraced this new venture whole heartedly," Norma Stangle said. "He is very happy to accommodate his customers, and as one person commented to me, 'if you come here feeling down, he makes you feel good before you leave.'"

With the family selling the hot dogs, and other foods, Norma Stangle prepares specials each morning while John Stangle runs the stand.

Norma Stangle said all the hot dogs are beef SABRETT hot dogs, served on potato rolls. They serve different specials every day, but always have Italian hot dogs, with peppers, onions and potatoes.

"We try to keep our prices as low as we can in view of the economic conditions of today," she said. "But we also feel as if the one thing people have to do is eat, therefore we feel it is just as important to have superb quality in our food, so we do our best."

Aside from selling the food, the Stangles help out in the community, bringing their hot dog truck to concerts and movie nights in Warren, Fourth of July fireworks in Piscataway and other events, while also being available for parties and catering.
