Somerset County Man Wanted For Aggravated Sex Assault Of Child Arrested: Prosecutor

SOUTH BOUND BROOK, NJ — A Somerset County man wanted for aggravated sexual assault of a child has been captured in Pennsylvania, Somerset County Prosecutor Michael H. Robertson announced.

Hector C. Suarez, 32, of Main Street, South Bound Brook was charged with sexually assaulting a victim, under the age of 14 and known to Suarez, in his hometown on Jan. 28.

Following an investigation conducted by detectives from the South Bound Brook Police Department and the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Sex Crimes and Child Abuse Unit, he was charged with one count of 1st degree, aggravated sexual assault.

An acquaintance of Suarez told him of the allegation and he fled New Jersey.

After numerous searches in Pennsylvania turned up negative, Suarez was labeled as a wanted person and placed into the National Crime Information Center database (NCIC).

Last Friday, Feb. 17 at around 9:26 p.m. Suarez's car was spotted parked at a Milford Road motel, in Smithfield, Pennsylvania by a Pennsylvania State Trooper Corporal Christopher Bonin.

Suarez did try and escape from a rear window of a motel room but was arrested by the state police, Robertson said.

Suarez was taken into custody without further incident and lodged in the Monroe County Correctional Facility pending extradition proceedings back to New Jersey.
