Winter Weather Advisory Issued For Somerset County Ahead Of Snow

SOMERSET COUNTY, NJ — A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for Somerset Countybythe National Weather Service(NWS) ahead of a snow storm.

The advisory will be in effect from 1 .m. Friday to 10 a.m. Saturday.

Snow is expected with total snow accumulations of 1 to 4 inches. The highest amounts are expected across the higher elevations in the northern portions of each county, according to NWS.

Here is a look at the weather forecast ahead:

Thursday Night: Increasing clouds, with a low around 29. North wind 5 to 10 mph.

Friday: A chance of rain and sleet between 1 and 4 p.m., then rain likely. Cloudy, with a high near 43. Northeast wind 5 to 10 mph becoming southeast in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent. Little or no sleet accumulation expected.

Friday Night: Rain and snow before 3 a.m., then snow and sleet. Low around 31. Northeast wind 10 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100 percent. New snow and sleet accumulation of less than one inch possible.

Saturday: Rain, snow, and sleet, becoming all rain after 9 a.m. High near 43. North wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent. New snow and sleet accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Saturday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 27. North wind 5 to 10 mph.

Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 46.

Sunday Night: Rain, mainly after 1 a.m. Low around 34. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent.
