Woman Fatally Hit By Car, Drunk Driver Charged In Raritan: Cops
The victim was visiting from out of state and police are working to notify her next of kin.

RARITAN, NJ — A man was charged with driving under the influence after he hit and killed a woman on Old York Road on Friday, prosecutors said.
The crash occurred around 4 p.m. near the intersection of Woodmere Street and Old York Road in Raritan on the border of Bridgewater, prosecutors said.
A Medivac helicopter landed at Duke Island Park to take the woman to a nearby hospital. The woman reportedly died, Somerset County Prosecutor's Office Spokesman Francis Roman said.

The driver has been arrested for driving under the influence and the matter does remain under investigation for additional criminal charges, Roman said.

The Somerset County Prosecutor's Office Collision Analysis Reconstruction Team (CART) are helping Raritan Police in conducting the investigation.
