Young Girl Hit, Killed By Pickup Truck At Bridgewater Intersection

A Bridgewater resident driving a 2021 GMC Sierra pickup truck fatally hit the young girl pedalcyclist on Saturday night.

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — A young girl was killed after being hit by a pickup truck at a Bridgewater intersection on Saturday night.

On Saturday, April 2, Maria A. Toribio, 22, of Bridgewater, was driving a 2021 GMC Sierra pickup truck north on Fulton Street when she hit a young girl pedalcyclist at the intersection of Fulton Street and 3rd Street, said Bridgewater Police Officer Kevin Florczak.

At 06:08 p.m., Bridgewater Township Police went to the scene and the girl was taken to Robert Wood Johnson Hospital Somerset where she was pronounced dead, said Florczak.

This crash is still under investigation by the Bridgewater Township Police Department’s Traffic Safety Bureau and the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office.
