2 Water Main Breaks Impact West Caldwell: Outages, Traffic
A pair of water main breaks took place on a busy roadway in West Caldwell on Friday.
WEST CALDWELL, NJ — A pair of water main breaks took place on Bloomfield Avenue in West Caldwell on Friday. Outages may be possible for residents in the area, and the breaks may also impact local traffic.
The West Caldwell Police Department issued the following advisory about the water main breaks:
- “Bloomfield Avenue eastbound in-between Richard Avenue and Francine Avenue is closed with traffic being diverted into the westbound side. Bloomfield Avenue westbound in-between Sanford Avenue and Francine Avenue is one lane only. An officer is on scene to assist with traffic.”
- “The right lane of Bloomfield Avenue eastbound near Kanouse Place is closed for a water main break. Traffic is diverted into the left lane on Bloomfield Avenue eastbound.”
Water outages in the affected areas are possible, police said.

Due to a water main break on Bloomfield Ave at Kanouse Pl, residents on Kanouse Pl and Melrose Pl will be without water for approximately 5-6 hours.

There is a water main break on Bloomfield Ave at Francine Ave. Residents in the area may experience a water outage. The West Caldwell Water Dept. is aware.
