2016 ‘Battle Of The Badges’ Fundraiser Will Include West, North Caldwell 1st Responders

ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — Several local police and fire departments from Cedar Grove, Verona, Little Falls and the Caldwells will come together to host the 2016 Battle Of The Badges softball game.

The event is set for 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Oct. 15 at Community Park in Cedar Grove, and will feature police from Cedar Grove, Verona, West Caldwell, North Caldwell and Little Falls, as well as firefighters from Cedar Grove, Verona and West Caldwell.

Proceeds from the 2016 event will help to purchase and train a service dog for Cedar Grove resident Matthew Ribaudo, son of retired CGPD officer Joseph Ribaudo, who is living with Autism Spectrum Disorder, event organizers stated.

According to organizers, no tickets are needed and donations can be made at the game. The event will include food (hamburgers, hotdogs, desserts) and $10 mugs of root beer with free refills.
