5K Run In The Caldwells: Detour And Parking Update

Avoid a parking ticket and keep clear of traffic in the Caldwells on Saturday.

The West and North Caldwell police departments are advising local commuters and residents to be mindful of a 5K benefit run that will originate in Caldwell and pass through their towns on Saturday.

According to the West Caldwell Police Department:

“Smull Avenue and Forest Avenue will be closed at times during the event. Vehicles may also be delayed on side streets that enter upon the above. Local traffic exiting neighborhoods will be assisted by police, but residents should keep in mind there will be sporadic delays as the event occurs.

“Anyone parking with overnight permission Friday, Sept. 11 to Saturday, Sept. 12, must remove their vehicles by 7 a.m. on Saturday. Any vehicles parked in the marked areas are subject to a summons.

The North Caldwell Police Department also issued an alert about the race:

“During the 5K Run, avoid Mountain Avenue Southbound from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. The roadway will be closed to southbound traffic south of Gould Ave. Smull Avenue and Forest Avenue will be closed to vehicular traffic between 9 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Mountain Avenue detours will affect Windridge, Fox Run, Lilac, Roosevelt and White Oak. Smull Avenue detours will affect Soder, Stony Brook, Dogwood and Winding Way.

“Please plan an alternate routes using Central Avenue to get through town to avoid detours.”
