The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has awarded the Essex County Improvement Authority a $135,900 grant to fund the design phase for rehabilitation of 3,721 feet of pavement on Runway 10/28 at Essex County Airport.
According to a release, the funds are needed to “extend the useful life of the pavement.”
“Since our state’s economy thrives on a modern, efficient transportation system, we need to continually improve our aging infrastructure and ensure our airports are well-equipped to keep everyone safe,” stated U.S. Sen. Robert Menendez. “Investing in our airports keeps travel safe and reliable, creates jobs and boosts our economic competitiveness.”
