CALDWELLS, NJ — A ShopRite in the Caldwells recently raised more than $11,000 that will help local food banks to fight hunger, earning a place on a Cheerios box as a “thank-you.”
ShopRite of West Caldwell, owned and operated by Sunrise ShopRite and the Sblendorio and Gladstein families, took in their impressive haul as part of the annual ShopRite Partners In Caring Cheerios Contest, sponsored in partnership with General Mills.
Funds raised as part of the contest during Hunger Action Month in September go to local food banks and organizations fighting hunger in the community.
The effort comes with a cool perk: the top 55 fundraising ShopRite stores select associates to be featured on special edition Cheerios boxes, sold exclusively at ShopRite and unveiled during in-store celebrations from March through May.
Each winning store also receives prize money to donate to local food pantries selected by the respective store teams.
ShopRite of West Caldwell recently unveiled a special edition Cheerios box featuring ShopRite team members, including West Caldwell associates Scott and Terrance.
The store will also make a special donation to the Community FoodBank of New Jersey and Essex County College.
