Rep. Rodney Frelinghuysen (NJ-11) will continue his annual tour of Superfund sites in the 11th Congressional District of New Jersey on Tuesday, August 9, 2011. The Congressman has invited top representatives from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) to accompany him on the tour.
Frelinghuysen’s annual tour comes on the heels of EPA’s most recent announcement that the Asbestos Dump Superfund site in Long Hill Township and Harding Township, has been removed from the Superfund National Priority List. The Asbestos Dump Site joins the Combe Fill North Landfill in Mount Olive Township, which was removed six years ago, and Pepe Field in Boonton, which was deleted seven years ago.
