Luckily, Essex County has several cupcake purveyors who may meet all three requirements.

New Jersey Family recently released its 2105 list of “The Best Cupcakes In NJ,” naming several area eateries in its ranking.
Taking home the top honors in Essex County was Cupcakes by Carousel, which has locations in Montclair, Englewood and Ridgewood.

“With literally dozens of flavors here, you will find the perfect cupcake for your every mood,” New Jersey Family wrote about Cupcakes by Carousel. “Try unique picks like cookie dough or cannoli, or sample an infused cupcake, where mild-mannered cake gets a jolt of apple compote or peanut butter cream filling. We especially love the apple pie and the s’mores cupcakes.”
