Body Found in South Mountain Reservation

A decomposing body was discovered in the South Mountain Reservation in Millburn Tuesday afternoon by a woman walking her dog, the Essex County Prosecutor's Office said.

The body was found in the woods, according to Katherine Carter, spokeswoman for the prosecutor's office.

She said the body is likely that of a man, wearing blue jeans and gray sneakers. The body does not show obvious sign of foul play.

The woman, who has not been identified, spotted the body about one mile south of South Orange Avenue.

The incident remains under investigation by the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide/Major Crimes Task Force and the Essex County Sheriff’s Office.
