ADP Visits West Essex Middle School to Teach Students about Internet Safety
ADP Teaches West Essex Students About Internet Safety.
Students at West Essex Middle School on April 25 learned about Internet Safety at a special presentation made by representatives from ADP.ADP Program Manager Trina Ford, a West Essex parent, played a video for students in the High School Auditorium. The video featured students talking about different mistakes they made online. One student said he gave friend his e-mail password and then the friend sent mean e-mails to all of his friends.Another student said she filled out a pop-up screen telling her that she had won a prize and even filled in her parents' credit card information. She never received the prize, she told students. And her parents received a lot of big charges on their credit card.Another student said he went to download free music and ended up downloading a computer virus.Ford told students to make sure that they never share their password with anyone, never give out their personal information and be careful what they download.The presentation is part of a special relationship with ADP which has included several presentations, classroom programs and other cyber safety programs throughout the school year.
“I am so pleased that we have ADP coming to our school,” said West Essex Assistant Principal Lisa Tamburri. “They are teaching the students here at West Essex Middle School some valuable long term life lessons. I truly feel that the more we educate our students, the better we prepare them for our society. “
