Dog Tails - Carolina
Sad tale about an 11-year-old Cocker Spaniel who someone dumped at an overcrowded kill shelter where she would have almost no chance of getting adopted.
Carolina was one of the lucky ones. At 11-years-old, her puppy years are long behind her. She is sweet, can only eat soft foods now, and will likely spend a good amount of time fast asleep at her owner's feet.
Someone decided that, after having her for 11 years, that she had grown old and was no longer worth having. She was dumped at the shelter and put into a noisy kennel with hard floors.
She is not the type of dog our rescue generally works with. She is a small, cute Cocker Spaniel with floppy ears. Something in her sad eyes got our rescue's attention, and she was pulled out. We honestly do not know if we would be able to find her a new home to live out whatever time she has left. We hope we will. What we did know was that we didn't want to see this little old lady take her last breath in a crowded kennel.

She deserves better than that. We can do better than that for her.
