Featured Adoptable Pet: Nip
Nip and her 3 siblings were brought to the shelter, although her siblings were adopted into homes awhile ago, she still waits in her shelter cage. She's a great cat and deserves a home of her own!

MY STORY:
I’d like to introduce myself to you! My name is Nip and I was rescued from a home where my owner abandoned me and my other siblings Marmalade, Sugar and Spice, but thankfully we were all given a second chance at the Wayne Township Animal Shelter. At first we were all really scared being in a strange place, we couldn’t understand why we were in cages and were really sad that we no longer had a home. My siblings have all been adopted into great homes awhile ago, but for some reason I still wait in my shelter cage and I just don’t understand why. I’m a really good cat, very affectionate, a mellow gal and well behaved and yet I've been waiting such a very long time at the shelter for someone to notice me. When people come to visit the shelter I try really hard to show them how friendly I am and let them know how much I want to come home with them, but sometimes they just pass me by.
In the meantime, the only option that I have is to wait patiently, as I have for a very long time, and see, smell and hear the same things every day, when all I really want is to be in a home where maybe instead of staring out through metal bars I can stare out the window and watch cars, birds and people and be able to cuddle with someone for awhile instead of just being alone in my cage.

All the shelter staff and volunteers love me and say that I would make the perfect pet and even they don’t understand why I’ve been overlooked all this time. They tell me that there are a lot of cats to choose from and they do their best to comfort me and love me and tell me there is no reason for a good kitty like me to still be waiting here for a home, but I still feel sad because all I know how to do is wait and hope to be able to feel love in a forever home, not in a shelter.
Even though I’ve been so lonely and bored in my shelter cage for what seems like forever, I still hold out hope that someone might love me one day and I watch the door carefully every time someone comes in to visit and think that maybe this time its going to be the person that I’ve been waiting for to take me with them. Please come to meet me and maybe you can be my long awaited forever home! When I see you come through the door, I promise if you just give me a chance and stop at my cage for awhile you’ll love me, but not as much as I’ll love you for rescuing me from my shelter cage.
