Help needed for North Jersey Animal Rescue R Us

North Jersey Animal Rescue R Us saved a litter of 10 week old puppies who were about to be put to sleep in a shelter. One has pneumonia and is very ill. Donations are needed.

Christina Chavis from Animal Rescue R Us has had better days. She is sitting with her head in her hands as she looks at the mounting vet bills for one of a dozen puppies she rescued over the past few weeks.  They are now at $3200 and climbing.

This young, single mother has rescued over 100 dogs that would have been put to sleep from the south, mostly Georgia, over the past year.  She has adopted them out, spending four days a week hosting adoption events at Petsmart, reviewing adoption applications, and juggling fosters.  Her phone doesn't stop ringing.

Last month, three days before she was about to leave the state for a week, she answered it.  It was from a volunteer at a Georgia shelter.  The shelter was about to euthanize dogs to make room and was making last ditch effort calls to rescue.

"A Pregnant hound?   When is she due?"  The answer is any day.  Christina sighs a long sigh, takes a deep breath and says "Load her up. We'll make room."

And somehow she does.  Christina lives with her mother and her 18 month old daughter in North Jersey.  She doesn't have a lot of money, but she has a lot of faith.

She has faith that fellow animal lovers will donate what they can so that she can help this very sick dog and continue to rescue animals.
