Incoming Freshmen Tour West Essex High School

Incoming Freshman Tour West Essex High School.

West Essex High School freshmen and their parents were invited to find students' lockers and classrooms and take informal tours of the high school on August 29th.

High School Principal Gary Suda said the tours gave freshmen and their parents a chance to familiarize themselves with the school and make things easier for them on the first day of school, September 6th. Suda, Vice Principal Juliann Hoebbe and Dean of Students Caesar DiLiberto met with students and parents, helped them find their away around the school and answered questions.


"I am feeling good," Heather Downey of Roseland told her mother as they found her last classroom in the 500 wing.

"She is breaking me in for back-to-school night," mom Cheryl Downey said. "I thought the middle school was hard-the high school is just so big. I would totally never be able to do this."

Bob Brendel of North Caldwell helped his his son Luke Brendel find the school gymnasiums where he will have class beginning next week.

Some students hugged in the hallways after not seeing each other all summer. Other stopped by guidance to get some help with their new schedules.
