West Essex Girls Tennis Team Wins Tournament and Raises Money for Charity

The West Essex Girls Varsity Tennis Team has been named State Sectional Champions after defeating the Madison High School Varsity Tennis Team!

The tennis team members also participated in the first Mixed Doubles Charity Event on Sunday, Oct. 21. Each varsity player selected a male partner to participate in a round robin tennis tournament and submitted an entry fee. More than $1,000 was collected in donations from family and friends.

The money will be donated to the Rhett Syndrome Foundation, a disability which has affected the granddaughter of junior varsity coach Don Albanese. Junior varsity players served as scorekeepers for the event and collected donations for the foundation. Donations are still being collected.
